I’m thinking of a number

between one and ten and

I want you to guess it.

“A number of what?”

Just a number of nothing

I’m thinking of the symbol

Of a number in my head

That I want you to guess.

“Is it Arabic or Roman?”

Why not hieroglyphic?

Look I just have the concept

Of a number in my head

And I want you to guess

What the number could be.

“Is it a rational number?”

Is that a rational question?

How could an irrational number

Be in between one and ten?

Can you just hazard a guess

At the number in my head

So we can finally figure out

Which one of us gets to go first.

“Is it 10?”
