Soup Season
A Poem by Sincerely Seb
Spring is done! Summer has gone! And once again, my favorite season: SOUP SEASON has returned once again with beautiful leaves and the fading of greens in the foliage of the world. Autumn arrives with cold mornings and crisp air to bring the fun back with the weeniest of months. Perfect weather for some soup.
I slurp hot soup broth and I look out the window
Where the sky is ashen and restless and wild.
The wind has abandoned this place for another
Where it howls and it leaps with the life of a child
And it blows on the fires in the hearts of the people,
To burn brightly just once ‘fore they snuff out and die.
My neighbors do labor on the roof of their truck
But my soup is now finished and I’m closing the blinds.
