Itching
A Drabble
A drabble is a short work of fiction, that is exactly one hundred words in length.
Zuko scratched the eczema on his arm.
It felt so good.
Waves of relief flooded his nervous system.
“Oh maann,” he grinned.
He knew he’d broken the skin but he didn’t care.
It just felt too good.
He kept scratching.
The itch advanced down his arm.
The eczema released cytokines which spread the inflammation.
He’d regret it later but he didn’t care. It felt so good now he couldn’t stop.
“Oh maaannn.”
His two doctors gazed through the observation window at their restrained and skinless patient.
“He’s fantasizing again,” one noted.
“That’s all he can do now,” the second sighed.
Thank you for reading!
