Touché'!!! You actually summed it up in line 4...EGO, which in essence means, "...Easing God Out! And the stabbing in the heart was quite poignant, as well, for the heart is the center of a person's thoughts, feelings and desires! in Luke 6:45, the Lord tells us, '...for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks!" He also tells us in Matthew 15:19, "...for out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder (...and there's all kind of ways to kill a person, right?), adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness and slander!" So, I find it to be very apropos, because this seems to be the tenor of this administration, and it has a trickle down affect, for sure! Blessings one and all!
Oof, so dark but good! I love how you took the whole "get rid of the ego" idea and made it so literal and horrifying! And all in 100 words. I'm impressed!
Thank you! As someone constantly battling the ego I wish it were as easy as a quick surgery, although I would personally opt for a professional if that were the case! 😝
You packed a powerful shift into so few words. I especially liked how the meaning of “getting rid of the ego” changes completely in the final lines. A thought-provoking drabble that lingers after the last sentence.
Your drabble paints quite a picture. The last part...wow...
Thank you!
By the picture I thought it was a reflection of sharpening your knowledge of scripture. But no, too simple.
You had him plunge the knife in his heart. Man you can do some demented drabbles. But I must be demented too. I read each and every 100 words.😊
That’s ok! It’s fiction! 😇
Right!
Ummm.
the ultimate irony is that his desperate obsession with proving his own worthiness was actually the supreme act of pride! Very nicely written !
Thank you!

When we temper the ego, we humble ourselves, and work better together for the betterment of all.
Luke 22:42 nevertheless not My will but Thine be done.
That was a shock 😲

Hahaha so basically… a spiritual lobotomy? 😆😜
If it works!
Well written!
Thank you!
These drabbles are brilliant! That is real talent right there! 🖤🖤
That’s high praise coming from you! Thank you so much!
Most people do think of the ego in this way and have a lot of hate in their hearts. I'm very glad few actually take the knife and plunge it in.
Me too!

"I would swallow my pride, would choke on the rinds
But the lack thereof would leave me empty inside
Swallow my doubt, turn it inside out
Find nothin' but faith in nothin"
I loved it. Great work.
