We Were Never Anonymous
A Poem
How many webpages
Are dedicated to me?
A Facebook page, a bebo page,
A MySpace page, and now this
All of these accounts
All of these spaces
My personality plastered
On all these webpages
Information on me
A mosaic of life
Stretching across the whole
Wide world online
Accessible from anywhere
Using a router and some wifi
Little pieces of me
Dancing through the landlines
Markers of my way of life
Proof of passage so to speak
And if they ever turn it off
They’ll disappear within a blink
Lost forever to the ether
Like they were never there at all
And if it lasts after I pass
They gain a pallor in their role
And serve as tombstones to my life
Collections of my memories
With pictures and videos that all remind
That these pages are a part of me.
They took my time to curate and style
To represent me and who I am online
They reveal a person cut up, rearranged
Like a puzzle that makes me
When the image is remade.

Meditations
On this Thanksgiving I wanted to post a poem I wrote a while back after meditating. Life is a journey, and it is filled with ups and downs, and despite knowing there will be bouts of depression ahead, I am thankful that I am not in the same place emotionally or spiritually that I used to be when I wrote this poem.

Such a deep poem! Most of time we think that we can simply go incognito but actually we were never right about it
