Artificial
A Philosophical Drabble
A drabble is a short work of fiction, that is exactly one hundred words in length.
“You made a synthetic cell?” Gary stared at his lab assistant.
“It’s technically alive,” Adam smiled proudly, “It mimics living behavior! It eats, it grows. It even reproduces and evolves!”
“So this is synthetic life?”
“Technically,” Adam nodded, “Isn’t it exciting?”
Gary sat back looking lost.
“What’s the matter?”
“Synthetic life, artificial intelligence,” he returned to the microscope, “It seems like we’re just biological machines.”
“What do you mean?” Adam looked hurt, “This is just mimicking life. We have souls.”
“Can you prove that,” Gary watched the synthetic cell writhing around, “Or is that just something you want to believe?”
Thank you for reading!
Need another drabble?

This hit deep. Nowadays it feels like humans are becoming more like soulless AI products anyway! I need a part two, I really want to hear where their debate goes next.
Very very fun & the limit of 100 words! That’s a healthy challenge.
I’m in team Gary.
